What Is Creative Visualization

So, what is creative visualization and why did I choose this topic? Well, in some of my previous posts, I talked about manifestation and affirming your goals.

Part of manifesting your dreams involves creating a vivid mental image of your goals. That process is called creative visualization. That is what we are talking about today. I want to help you to manifest your goals. And creative visualization is a powerful thing that you should be using to manifest your goals.

Half the battle to your goals is a mental battle. Let me help you fight the mental battle.

How Creative Visualization Works

Creative visualization helps you to achieve your goals. It does so by helping you to establish a stake in your goal. By creating vivid mental images of your goals, you are starting to attach emotions to your goal.

The more emotions you attach to your goals, the more stake you have in the goal. That in turn, makes you more determined to make your goal a reality. You begin to give your goals roots to grow.

The first thing you need to do is get clear on your goals.

What do you want? Be specific. The more specific you are, the better. The specificity allows you to visualize your goals better. When you become CEO, what will your life look like?

Who are you talking to daily? And who are you working with? How did you make your way to the top? Did you work your way through the ranks of the company? Or did you start your own company after working for various corporations and start-ups, and learning from them?

What does the path to your goal look like? Visualize it and be specific.

Attach emotions to your goal.

Connect with the change in your life before you see it happen. That is the premise of this step. We are raising the stakes involved with achieving your goals. Creative visualization is all about establishing the right mindset.

Figure out how to attach emotions to your goals. We are taking a two-dimensional goal and making it multi-dimensional. What will you feel when you accomplish your goals? How will you feel every day once you become the CEO of your own company? And how will you feel every day when you wake up?

Make sure that you’re attaching positive emotions to your goal.

How do you feel about your ability to achieve your goals? Do you feel that you can do it? If the answer is no, then you may be fighting a losing battle.

Why don’t you think you can achieve your goal? Break it down. You are only a student. Or you know nothing about business. Well, how can you make those barriers obsolete?

You will not always be a student. And you can learn about business or hire someone to help you. There have been tons of students that became CEOs of their own businesses as students.

Encourage yourself.

Knockdown the barriers. What can you work on to create a positive feeling around your ability to reach your goal? You are more likely to accomplish a goal that you think you can do than a goal you think you can never accomplish.

With a negative shadow cast over your abilities, any obstacle and you will give up. You’ll find yourself saying I knew it couldn’t happen and give up.

With a positive view on your ability to reach your goal, you will just see the obstacle as a slight challenge. Or you might just see a little bump in the road and keep going.

Keep Your Eye on the Prize

The last tip is the most important tip. Keep visualizing. Once you have the picture of your life as CEO. And once you have the feelings that the position brings you, don’t forget to keep going back to that image.

A lot of us create the image once and forget about it. How can you be motivated to achieve your goal if you stop reminding yourself of why you want the goal? How would you forget why you want to become a Ph.D. in psychology?

Well, when the battle becomes long and hard, you might just forget why you entered school in the first place. The sleepless nights and all the extra work you have to do to keep yourself in the program may have you questioning your goals.

You may ask yourself why you entered the program in the first place. It’s times like this where you will need your vision the most. But it also helps if you are constantly visualizing yourself as a Ph.D. holder.

It helps even more if you go a step further and visualized yourself as a Clinical Psychologist. Or a even social worker. Imagine yourself every day as that clinical psychologist.

Then, imagine the fulfillment at your job and the salary. Imagine your relationship with your co-workers. It doesn’t hurt to be too detailed. That will just help you know what you want and what you aren’t willing to accept in the future.

However, don’t make the mistake of solely focusing on what you don’t want. Focus on what you do want. You can easily make a specific pathway for your future from your dreams.

Take as little as 2 minutes a day to visualize your end goal. It really doesn’t have to be so hard.

In summary, the most important part of manifesting your dreams is creative visualization. Creative visualization allows you to establish a higher stake in your goals by attaching emotions to your goals and visualizing your success regularly.

An important part of the creative visualization process is getting clear on your goals and being specific about what you want. The more specific the better.

Creative visualization is all about mindset. And your mindset is half the battle when it comes to achieving your goals in life.

Convince yourself that you can actually accomplish your goals. Without that belief in your ability, you will be limiting yourself and where the creative visualization process can take you.

Try creative visualization! Make your affirmations meaningful! Manifest all your goals!
