Why You Should Be Using Brandless, Right Now!

If you never heard of Brandless™, I’m telling you about it now. Brandless™ is a company that is based in San Francisco, CA. They are a new business that started in 2017. Their goal is to make better things accessible to more people.

What things? Foods, personal items, cleaning products, office supplies, etc. You can find certified organic foods, gluten-free foods, nontoxic cleaning products and, vegan items for $3.

Because technically there is no brand and there are no extra brand taxes on these items. One caveat is that since Brandless™ is a new company, they do have a limited supply of items, however, what they do have is good quality.

How I Found Brandless™

A while ago, I wanted to start using safer, nontoxic cleaning products. Our cleaning products have so many toxins that can affect our health. I had heard this a lot before but it wasn’t until I saw a study on how toxins in cleaning products affected lungs like smoking (mostly in women; in men, no effects were seen, lucky them.)

As a person who cleans a lot, I was highly affected and decided not to take any chances to wait for more studies on this. I already know what the fumes of Clorox feel like from personal experience.

So, I began looking at nontoxic and safer cleaning choices. There are not a lot of brands out there that are safe and nontoxic. But, they are so expensive! May I remind you all again that I am an out-of-state college student at a private school. That basically translates into I’m broke, right now.

One day, I was scrolling on Instagram and the marketers finally got me! I usually pride myself in quickly scrolling through all ads or sponsored posts but, this ad caught my attention. Organic, Non-GMO, Cruelty-Free Items. The majority of these items were $3. Insert gasping emoji here.

I clicked on their ad and was directed to their website where I explored for a little bit until I hit the personal items and the cleaning items. Everything looked legit enough so I decided to give Brandless™ a try.

They were relatively cheap compared to other nontoxic cleaning products. I definitely got more ounce of product per dollar. All I needed to do was put these items to the true test, cleaning!

My First Brandless™ Delivery!

Getting the box was nice, you get a Brandless™ box with a postcard in it that you can send to whomever and a thank you card. I thought that was cute.

Recently, I ordered my third box from them and this time a catalog of their products was inserted in the box. They are moving up. I love it! All the items have no brand name. The design is simple and clean since you are actually paying for the product, not the labels.

My first purchase was the dish soap, surface wipes, a toilet bowl cleaner, body wash, multi-surface cleaner, and the tub and tile cleaner. The only thing I wasn’t too crazy about was the body wash, I didn’t really like the scent or the consistency. I felt I could spend my $3 better elsewhere but, everything else was a hit.

So much that I purchased a second time. The next time, I tried their toothpaste, mouthwash, tree-less paper plates and re-ordered the other things that I ran out of. I liked the mouthwash and the toothpaste was okay although I do like it more than Tom’s of Nature brand.

I prefer JasÖn’s as my top choice though. I will say that the toothpaste actually lasted longer than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. The mouthwash I definitely rank over Tom’s especially for the price that you get it for. Mouthwash is expensive if you’re trying to be conscious about the stuff that goes into your body.

Brandless™ for Cleaning Products?

Back to cleaning products, Brandless is now my main go-to for cleaning products because they are certified EPA Safer Choice Certified and you get more bang for your buck. The only thing is the scent difference.

We all know that most other cleaning products have such strong industrial scents that make you feel like its actually doing something. Nontoxic and natural products, on the other hand, have softer or unusual scents.

There is also not a variety of scent choices when it comes to your cleaning products here. This also goes for brands like Seventh Generation, Honest, Meyer or method. There are only so many natural scents that double as antibacterial and are nontoxic.

It’s also hard to change the scent of a product without getting too crazy in the lab which is why some scents will overpower the product and make it smell like something other than what you picked out. For me, the tub and tile cleaner smelt weird and oddly too soft for me but, it definitely did it’s job so I am reordering another one as I type this.

The Final Verdict

Now, whenever people come over to my place, they always notice I have a bunch of products labeled, Brandless. They are always curious. Then, I go onto showing them the new world that is Brandless.

Brandless has to be the most amazing discovery I have made in my life besides tea. Close friends and families know about me and my obsession with Brandless. It’s not by mistake that I found them. It was faith.
